Surrounded by Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, Orillia is a popular fishing spot throughout all seasons.

Scout Valley

A 230-acre nature oasis, Scout Valley offers three loop trails which are dominated by mature deciduous forest, a natural spring and stream, and a scenic lookout over Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.

The oldest house in Orillia, known as Regan House, has also found new life at Scout Valley after being moved and carefully reconstructed at the Line 15 parking lot entrance. 

Before visiting, please visit the Couchiching Conservancy website to learn more about conservation efforts, landscape information, and trail maps. Please note, cycling is not permitted within Scout Valley.

Beaches

Orillia is nestled between two beautiful lakes and is home to two public beaches: Couchiching Beach, located at Couchiching Beach Park, and Moose Beach, located at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park. Be sure to check public swim conditions before you go.

Boating, Paddling, & Water Sports

Orillia is a well-known and favoured stop for those voyaging the historic 386-kilometre Trent-Severn Waterway. Home to a wide variety of marinas, which includes The Port of Orillia, or rather, "The Jewel of the Trent;" Orillia's waterfronts are within walking distance to scenic trails, sandy beaches, ample green space, live entertainment, and world-class shopping and dining. 

While visiting the Port, make sure to check out the park's many festivals and events, take in a live show at the Rotary Aqua Theatre, explore downtown Orillia, and indulge in our excellent waterfront amenities.
